All Measurement Principles in a Single Device

Static perimetry
Not only static perimetry with classic or fast threshold measurement, but also suprathreshold examination with pre-programmed and customer-defined test point grids.
Kinetic perimetry
Automatic and/or manual kinetic examination for quick additional information and diagnosis confirmation.
Color Perimetry
Red or blue stimuli can be presented both statically and kinetically on a white or yellow background.
The Goldmann Standard
Together with manual positioning and movement of the stimulus (kinetics), the form, size, and luminance of the stimuli are based on the Goldmann Standard and thus also permit expert legal assessment of blindness or abilityto drive a vehicle. (National laws may vary.)
Universal, Fast, Compact

For daily routine in clinics and practitioners´ examinations, a follow-up program, and statistical analysis of results plus optional incorporation of Peridata, the statistics programm.www.peridata.org

Technical Highlights
Back-Surface Projection

The Twinfield 2 uses the principle of back-surface projection. Different projectors are mounted on a movable arm. Every position on the perimeter bowl can be accessed with this system. The stimuli are shown exactly, with precise reproducibility of test point locations - an essential condition for reliable visual field findings.
Static perimetry with every type of test point grid as well as kinetic automatic and manual perimetry is now possible for the first time with this concept in a bowl perimeter.

Uncomplicated PC Operation
(Ask your dealer for PC-configuration)

The Twinfield 2 is operated with an easy-to-follow menu system. The software consists of a patient data recording program and a perimeter control program. After fine-tuning and correct linkup, the Twinfield 2 Perimeter can also run in a network uniting the customary EDP systems in the practitioner´s examination rooms. Perimetric results can then be called to the screen of any PC in which the perimeter program is installed in the local-area medical network and can be explained clearly to the patient.
Programs in Static Perimetry

From the Macula Program to the complete visual field test, including peripheral examination, a multitude of test point grids are conveniently available. These can be run with different test strategies (threshold-adapted, suprathreshold, fast threshold strategy, 4-2 threshold strategy).
Defects of indeterminate origin can be specifically re-tested by means of individual test points or sector examination.
The Corrective Lens Holder
The prescription lens mounting for the optionally available full aperture lenses is used for all central correction areas whenever the patient requires a special correction for perimetric examination. Proper correction noticeably improves visual field findings.

Functionally Designed Ergonomic in Detail

The compact Twinfield 2, with its integrated PC, TFT flat-screen monitor, miniature keyboard and printer, is easy to use and unites all control elements with the greatest economy of space. The TFT flat-screen monitor and the printer can be positioned to the right of left side of the perimetric measuring unit as desired - completely in tune with your spatial requirements. The adjustable, electrically driven twin chinrest makes it possible to switch from the right to the left eye in seconds. Fine positioning takes place by clicking with the mouse on the center of the pupil of the patient´s eye, and the chin rest then moves automatically to the central position. And re-centration is also possible during the examination.
The forehead rest can be moved independently back and forth in order to adjust the system to individual forehead shapes and to adjust the corneal vertex distance correctly for full aperture lenses. The patient´s response button is located in a special bracket directly in front of the patient. The electrically-driven instrument stand is vertically adjustable to any patient´s height, and ergonomically integrated arm rests also permit comfortable overall positioning of the patient, making the unit ideal even for patients in wheelchairs.
Fixation Monitoring and Pupil Diameter

An integrated CCD camera makes it possible to check fixation permanently and also to measure pupil diameter after accommodation and light adoption and record this in the test protocol. Pupil diameters and measurement results are correlative; this should be taken into account when comparing the results of old and new examinations.
